The Purpose of Finasteride
This drug serves two major purposes: a) the stimulation of fresh hair growth in males with male pattern baldness and b) treating of urinary problems in males caused by BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy) also known as enlargement of the prostate gland.
Finasteride acts to alleviate some signs of prostate enlargement such as incontinence, nocturia (the need to frequently pee at night), dysuria or painful urination by hindering the production of DHT or dihydrotestosterone.
